Jagged edges slide into grooves,
a pattern of irregular shapes
a pattern
beautiful in its complexity.
Heartache smoothed by grace.
Bits of loss reformed.
The pieces make the whole.
Expectations
rigid and firm
shattered to bits,
by Grace reformed.
A new model.
A new whole.
The pieces make the whole.

Quick question. Did the site load correctly for you? Just had a new problem to solve in that regard. Thanks for your feedback.
AND more importantly, thank you longtime friend for reading my poem in the first place. I do hope you and your family are well.
Hi “Susan” :)
the site loaded slowly but I didn’t have any trouble.
I enjoy your poem my sweet lifelong Friend. Perhaps I identify with the longing for reconciliation because I’m experiencing an estrangement from one of our sons and his family. Heartbreaking but your words give me hope ❤️
Mahalo nui, Jill, for sharing. There’s always hope, I feel, since we’re ALL always connected–whether it feels like it or not.
