Day 23 of the walk started at Pismo Beach State Park.
Ryan's Dad joined us for 2-days of walking. : )
This lovely lady brought us coffee this Thursday morning.
Lisa's a sweetheart! AND excellent van driver and volunteer!
And off we go to walk 15-miles to Santa Barbara County and the little town of Guadalupe.
These two guys are great fun -- Bob and Michael.
Raja was our leader for the day.
Check out the Vulture!
We passed horse paddocks many times on Day 23.
And we saw the train tracks for miles and miles.
"Everyone alright?" Raja's a very good leader. : )
What do you think that is growing there?
Sometimes there was a nice shoulder.
Sometimes not. We came to a hill where we willingly got into a single file.
I love horses! Don't you?
Eggs anyone?
In case you're wondering. Juan Bautista de Anza was here!
Yup, it's always greener on the other side of the fence. Or is it???? : )
Got oil?
Got metal art, that's for sure!
Just in case it wasn't clear.
Only 6-more miles to Guadalupe.
More horses.
More walking.
More fruit and/or vegetable picking.
More conversations about this and that.
More produce.
Oceano is where we came from,Pismo State Beach Park. Only 3-more miles to go!
Sometimes 18-wheelers passed us by. But fortunately, not that often.
We passed strawberry fields again.
Trash Alley. It looked like the wind tunnel was also serving as a trash collection system.
We also kept walking past fallen broccoli. "What a waste!" Michael commented.
There's the ocean on the other side.
We've become pals during this walk.
The wind was blowing so hard at this point, that I was concerned about not falling OFF the bridge or INTO the road!
I didn't! Yahoo! We've come a l o n g ways in 23-days.
Rodeo grounds in Guadalupe. Missed the show though. : (
Another group delirious shot. We made it yet again! Raja's the expert self iPhone photo taker.
What's cooking ya'll?
Proof of where we are at the end of Day 23's 15-mile walk.
We met and conferred about lunch (and put on our jackets; the wind was h o w l i n g !!!).
I went to find a bathroom in a restaurant and found that some of the group were there . . .
THIS was the r e a l deal. Yum! 3 eggs! Not 2, but 3!
. . . in Solvang, the Danish capital of America. Heidi continues her story everywhere she goes.
Feeling a bit Danish. : )
A few of the walkers went in for a visit. Moi? Too full from my Mexican meal!
Night 23 we camped at El Capitain State Park.
It was stunningly beautiful! I enjoyed a quiet hour hanging down on the rocks. : ) Then it was campfire time at the site.
BIG hugs to you too! Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Rest, relax and enjoy!
Mahalo Katie!
Just got out of the pool where a friend’s staying and now I’m treating myself with a shower! Simple pleasures!!!
