Liz and I awoke, after camping on the San Francisco zoo lawn, and realized that EVERYONE had broken down their tent and made ready to leave-except us!!!
It was a blast getting to spend time with Liz. So glad she could hang out with us for an evening!
We began Day 2 of the 30 day walk by crossing the highway at the zoo entrance.
There was lots of room for everyone!
We didn't stop to get acquainted to Mr. Funston.
Heading up to Doggie Disneyland.
There were more dogs than you could shake a stick at!
Hail, hail, the gangs all here! Including Butch's dog, Joy.
Our bicycle support crew of one gives us an idea periodically of what to expect.
It was great to be away from the cars.
Next stop. Beach land.
We weren't the only people enjoying the beach that day.
Just me and the birdies . . . (and the photographer : )
We got pretty spread out . . . I think we were each enjoying the peace and beauty of California's coastline.
Pleasant green on a dunes kind of day.
Love those yellow shirts!
The birds were enjoying a drink . . . and a nibble or two.
Those are OUR feet prints!
Ice plants. They sure did brighten my day!
Thar she blows!
And there she dives . . . a whale, that is.
Here comes the rest of the gang.
I remembered my addiction . . . to taking pictures!
We left the long, long beach . . .
On a springtime day . . .
Heading to Hawaii? Or so it seemed. Maybe Japan?
There are plenty of supplies on hand for that nasty blister or two, or three, or . . .
Joy's water break
We all sat a spell and rested our salty dawgs.
Time to get back at it . . .
We got so lucky with the weather!
Sad to see signs of someone's loss .
Guiding hand . . . I loved how Joette steered Nancy as she signed.
There were rows and rows of highfalutin mobile homes!
Could this really be it? we were asking ourselves. Yes, Ocean High School was around the corner.
Our support crew is amazing. They had all our gear spread out so we could easily make camp for the night. Sweet dreams!
