I was so JAZZED to be almost pau with 23.6-miles!!!
Cooking it up!
Michael had just joined us the night before; he's able to walk with us for the last 2-weeks!
Changed from white Orthaheels to black Orthaheels. I LOVE these clunky, wonderful shoes!!!
We left San Simeon State Park at 8:45 a.m. with Heidi as our leader.
Aloha San Simeon!
The night before they'd decorated the support vehicles. Great job!
I love you, too!
We walked along the ocean for a bit.
Then we got on a bike path heading into Moonstone Beach area.

This man was particularly friendly and welcoming to the Cambria area (where we'd hung out the previous day).
I've seen plenty of people hanging out at the beaches.
Hi Carol!
Looked like a school group. Maybe graduating?
It's awesome when there's a public restroom available. : )
Surfers! In FULL body armor.
Aloha Moonstone Beach Drive!
Good Morning! A couple was enjoying the clear, sunny Saturday.
Everyone seems to really enjoy it when we're able to spread out and chat.
This is where we're supposed to turn, according to Ryan's email.
Yes, but I think there was a change?
Our new volunteer, Lisa, showed up just in time and helped us solve the riddle.
After going through a neighborhood on a curvy road, we once again met the highway.
A few walkers chose to have a ride in the van rather than walk on the highway.
Not Karen, our leader after Heidi's foot started hurting too badly.
I really like those plants. Help, what are they, Marty?
Wow, we've come a long way!!!
Lunch break Day 18. It was rather early, around 11:30 a.m. We still had a a LONG ways to go!
The flowers are definitely one of my favorite pleasures as we're walking along the highway.
Nice wide shoulder
Volunteer and driver, Ruth, stayed with us all day.
See?
Ut oh . . .
What's the problem officer? (Butch handed him one of our Walk for ASL cards.)
All good. We just had to switch to the other side of the road. Ruth could still check on us, just from the other side.
I wrote down the name of this bird somewhere . . . a Redwing Blackbird!
Love the curves.
Goonie water break!
Morro Bay rock in the distance!
Cayucas turned out to be a really cute little town.
How many pictures have been taken of that rock you think? Over 1 million?
Ahh . . . getting closer!
We were delirious at this point . . . : )
Diving for din-din!
That looks like some COLD windsurfing!
Looks like a good beach for walking.
We happened by a high falutin wedding this 18th day of May, 2013.
That's who got married . . . anyone know them?
Love that purple VW bus!
Though I often saw people hanging out at California beaches . . . rarely did I see anyone in the water--except for surfers.
I went ALL out and had an iced decaf AND an icecream! Yum!
Bikers seem to love riding up and down California's coast.
We had seen many, many, many of these cars on the highway that day.
Vintage Porsches in all different colors. Maybe a convention up north?
After our ice cream treats, Butch, Raja, and I continued . . .
Almost there! Though I didn't realize it at the time.
Yeah, the 5 of us managed to walk 23.6 miles on Day 18 of the ASL Walk. Yahoo!
: )
Home sweet home . . . for the night!
Hmmm . . . such extremes.
We literally filled up every square inch we were allowed at our camp site. I was on a fun LEAN, made sleeping "interesting." : )
Wow, salmon! Thanks to Michael, we had fish that night. Mahalo Michael!!!
Ahhh, Alison can be so shy. Ain't she cute?
Ryan asked us to gather for a photo shoot . . .
of our feet!
Now lay down . . .
Volunteer Kiki managed to click two cameras at once! Thanks Kiki!!!
Day 18 was awesome. 23.6-miles. Ice cream, salmon, friendship, and sunshine!
