Who the heck is Sj?
It’s me, a lover of life, an eternal kid.
Born and raised in Tennessee, I was a traveler as soon as I set foot out of my mother’s womb. My journeys have taken me all around the world, settling on the island of Kaua’i in 1989.
For over 25-years, I worked side-by-side with my husband and partner in our video production company, TV Juice. With the healthy shifts that come with time, we’re working differently now—each following our separate passions. For me, that translates into language, writing, and teaching – in a variety of forms.
The hermit part of my social-hermit nature luxuriated in the changes COVID-19 brought to our lives. I no longer felt a desire to be out in public. BUT when I least expect it, the social part of me shoves me out the door.
- Maybe I will someday do improvisational comedy again, like when I was part of the InsPirates.
- Or perhaps I will scare myself silly by doing stand up again in NYC or some random place like Jackson, Mississippi.
Who knows?
In the meantime, I’ll keep plugging away on my second book: My Life as a Toad: tales of a traveling toad while enjoying my time with Mr. Tafferty and all of his friends.
And, if you’re curious about my first book, My Life as a Mule: a fictionalized memoir or a memoir with a twist, you can listen to a fun radio interview with Taj Juré on Kaua‘i’s community radio station KKCR:
May our paths cross when the hermit me has decided to let the social me run the show.
